Activists blocking trade with the occupied Donbas announced their intention to block the highways and roads linking Ukraine with the country-aggressor Russia, one of the initiators of the action, the second commander of the battalion "Donbas" Anatoly Vinogrodsky said at a press conference in Kyiv, "UNIAN" news agency reports.
According to the coordinator of the blockade, activists plan to stop transportations of consignments which are larger than a truck, going in both directions. He promised that the blockade activists will still allow the civilian cars.
“We plan to close the roads, but it needs some extra preparation... We will stop the product batches coming in the amount of at least a truck. Civilians can carry products for themselves of course. Our task is to stop all transitions in the aggressor country.”
Organizers plan to start the extension of the blockade after agreement with the Head of the National Guard of Ukraine on preventing its forced dispersal.
“Now we need to solve the issue with Mr. Allerovym [Commander of the National Guard under Yuriy Aller -. Ed.] on preventing the forced dispersal of the blockade and we will gradually expand.”
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman during a meeting with representatives of the metallurgical industry said that the organizers of the coal supply blockade from the militants-occupied territories are undermining energy independence of Ukraine.
