New information has been reported on the number of Ukrainians who became victims of terrorist attack in Istanbul.
- According to specified data of the the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, the number of Ukrainians who became victims of the terrorist act at the international airport Ataturk (Istanbul) rose to 4 people: one woman died in hospital from the injuries, three other citizens (one woman and two men) are currently in the Istanbul hospital with injuries of varying severity. So far nothing threatens their lives and health, the Department of Consular Service of the Ukraine’s MFA reported on Facebook.
The Ukrainian Consul visited the wounded in Istanbul hospital. The representatives of the Consular Service of Ukraine in Istanbul continue to monitor the situation and provide full support to the compatriots.
- Currently, two Ukrainian citizens, the victims of the terrorist act at the international airport Ataturk, are treated in Istanbul hospital. The third victim (with minor injuries) plans to return home in the near future, Vasily Bodnar reported on Facebook.
Late in the evening on July, 28 three suicide bombers struck the Ataturk Airport. Turkish Prime Minister B. Yildirim said all the evidence suggests that ISIL is to blame for the explosion at the Turkish airport.
239 wounded were taken to a hospital, 109 of them have already been discharged, while 130 continue to be treated.
According to the Istanbul City Administration, 43 people have been killed with 10 foreigners and three persons with dual citizenship being among them. The identity of 37 victims has been established. The bodies of 19 victims have been handed over to their families.
