November 12, 2015. Two explosions in Beirut killed at least 37 people and wounded over 100, representatives of the Lebanese police report.
The explosions occurred in one of the southern districts of the city, inhabited mostly by Shiite Muslims.
It is reported that this area is under the control of the Hezbollah movement, whose militants are actively involved in the conflict in Syria alongside Bashar al-Assad’s troops.
According to the Lebanese authorities, the explosions were set off by suicide bombers. Lebanese Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk said that they were carrying explosive belts.
