May 23, Asan Egiz, an activist and brother of a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Abdurman Egiz, was abducted in the annexed Crimea near the Pionerske village of Simferopol, the Head of the Central Election Commission of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people Zair Smedlya reported on his Facebook page.

According to him, Egiz was stopped by unknown people with the car of "Volkswagen" brand. The car had lights flashing.

“Near the Pionerske village Asan Egiz was stopped and taken away in an unknown direction,” he wrote.

Lawyer Ayer Azamatov also confirmed the information about the abduction of Egiz. According to him, "Volkswagen" car belongs to road patrol service.

Unknown people in police uniform put a bag on the head of Asan Egiz and took him out of Simferopol, his brother Abduraman informed on Facebook.

“As the brother explained [Asan, - Ed.]: The car was stopped by people in the uniform of the police. Then, the unknown people put him into the car by force and took away. The trip passed in a terrible situation: a bag was put on the head, the hands were tied, he was thrown face down on the floor of the car. They left him on the highway Simferopol - Bakhchysarai on the outskirts of the village near the forest. "Go where you want," they said. From this place, Asan returned to Simferopol,” Abduraman wrote.

Later, Chubarov informed that Abduraman went to the FSB of the Russian Federation in the occupied Crimea looking for his brother. Information emerged that Asan Egiz was found beaten and was taken to the hospital.

“The kidnapped Asan Egiz was beaten badly, but released. Now, with his brother Abdurman and his lawyer, Aider Azamatov, he is taken to the 6th city hospital of Simferopol. Everyone who lives in the area is called to come to the hospital," he said.

Chubarov noted that the information coming from the Crimea allows to assume about a large-scale FSB operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

“Please be considerate of each other. Immediately report any actions of the Russian invaders, on social networks,” he warned.

He emphasized that the purpose of this operation is to arrest a large number of Crimean Tatars in several days, who will be mainly charged for the commission of an offense under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
