On November 16, at midnight in the occupied Crimea in the village of Kurskoe unknown persons fired gunshots at the house of the Crimean Tatar activist.

Head of the CEC of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people Zair Smedlya informed on the incident on his Facebook page.

“Today at midnight in the village of Kurskoe, Belogorsky district, the unknown people shelled the house of Crimean Tatar activist Dzhafer Ametov,” he wrote.

Earlier QHA reported that the occupying power in the Crimea is intensifying the persecution of the Crimean Tatars aimed at "suppressing dissent" on the peninsula. Human Rights Watch stressed that since the occupation, Moscow has subjected the indigenous population, as well as journalists, bloggers and activists, to harassment, intimidation, threats, intrusive and illegal house searches, physical assaults and kidnappings.
