As a result of a rocket attack on Friday, April 22, two people were killed and four other were wounded, Deustche Welle reports.

The incident took place the day before the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Chairman of the European Council Donald Tusk, Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Frans Timmermans and Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu to a refugee camp located in the nearby town of Gaziantep.

Their trip was initially scheduled for the week before, and included a visit to Kilis, which came under rocket fire. The city that hosted up to 130,000 Syrian refugees has been shelled several times from Syria over the last week.

It was reported earlier that on April 8, a rocket fired from Syrian territory targeted the apartment building in the city of Kilis. The blast killed three Syrian children and injured five people. Later on, one child and one adult died in the hospital, thus increasing the death toll to five people.
