On April 15, journalist Maksim Borodin died in Russia. He was one of the first to write about the private military company "Wagner", fighting in the Donbas. Borodin fell out of the balcony on the 5th floor on April 13 and was taken to the hospital in a coma.

The Editor-in-chief of the newspaper where Borodin worked noted that "there were no reasons for his suicide". The organization Reporters Without Borders and the OSCE called death suspicious. The same opinion was voiced by Borodin's friend, whom the journalist called before death.

Borodin wrote a lot about PMC "Wagner" and Russian losses in Syria. He was one of the first to talk about the deaths of more than 200 contract soldiers who fell under the fire of the US coalition.

Earlier, in April last year in Moscow, the journalist of the newspaper "New Petersburg" Nikolai Andrushchenko, who was brutally beaten by unknown people, died.
