According to the Novaya Gazeta, citing its sources, "several dozen people were reportedly detained in Chechnya in the early summer of 2016." Most of the detainees were from Nozhai-Yurt, Gudermes and Kurchaloy districts.
Sources, including those from the Federal Security Service of the Czech Republic and Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation "used the word ‘conspiracy’," the newspaper reports.
It is alleged that the information was carefully concealed in the republic, but "sketchy facts showed even the failed, but the most ambitious assassination attempt in the history of the reign of Ramzan Kadyrov." The journalists added that the majority of the conspirators were the youth from Benoy teip, which includes Kadyrovs, Yamadayevs, Delimkhanovs and representatives of other well-known Chechen surnames.
With reference to its sources, the Novaya Gazeta states that an assassination was being prepared in the village of Benoy, at "the residence, where Kadyrov usually stays in." The explosive device was planted there. "A significant arsenal of advanced weapons" has been seized with the conspirators," the newspaper reports, citing a person participating in the searches.
