In Kyiv, the Security Service of Ukraine detained members of a transnational group engaged in human organs trafficking, according to the official website of the department.
Law enforcers found that the malefactors sought poor citizens and offered them to sell their kidneys. To cover illegal business, members of the group created a commercial structure that allegedly provided medical tourism services.
The members of the group paid donors from thirteen to fifteen thousand dollars, but received from eighty to one hundred thousand dollars (from 4.6 to 5.7 million rubles) per client. Having received the consent of the donors, the malefactors sent them abroad for operations. According to the Security Service of Ukraine SBU, every month criminals transported 4-5 Ukrainians abroad.
So far, law enforcement officers managed to detain six members of the group. They face from 8 to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
