The ceremony was attended by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, the Chief of the General Staff, ministers, leaders of leading opposition parties, heads of courts, civil servants.
The ceremony began at 08:45 local time. The Head of the Turkish state laid a wreath of white and red carnations on the grave of Ataturk.
The national anthem of the Republic of Turkey sounded after a minute of silence.
President Erdogan also left a record in the Memory Book of the Mausoleum.
