The self-proclaimed head of the occupied Crimea Sergei Aksyonov stated that the peninsula has a number of "problem issues", including the average monthly wage and tariff policy issues. He made a corresponding statement during a meeting of the Kremlin-controlled parliament of the Crimea.
Aksyonov noted that in 2017, the implementation of the expenditure part of the budget was about 162 billion rubles (about 2.86 billion USD). This is 23% more than in 2016.
He went on saying that at the moment the largest amount of funds - about 74 billion rubles (about 1.28 billion USD) - was invested in the development of the economy on the annexed peninsula.
According to him, financing of the social sphere increased by 8% and amounted to more than 71 billion rubles (about 1.23 billion USD).
QHA reported that in the occupied Crimea, residents complained about high prices and low salaries. Residents of Simferopol argue that 80% of the salary is spent on food only.
