A mechanism to verify compliance with anti-Russian sanctions should be introduced, while trying to strengthen them, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy of Ukraine Refat Chubarov stated on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel.
“Numerous cases were observed when Western European companies take part in the activities of Russian occupiers in Ukrainian territory. And the government not only does not notice this, it is avoiding responsibility. We need to insist on introduction of a mechanism to verify the implementation of sanctions imposed on Russia, while trying to strengthen these sanctions. Without the mechanism for monitoring sanctions, some Western European companies will be cooperating with Russia," he said.
Chubarov stressed that the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine should become a common task both within the country and at international venues.
“A single objective both within the country and on external sites should be the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. We must go to all negotiations with this formula. Because trying to resolve certain issues, including how to stop the construction of a bridge or how not to allow the Russian Federation to build up military force on Ukrainian territory is just ineffective without speaking about the Crimea, without focusing on the fact that a significant part of our country is not controlled by us due to Russia's aggression,” the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people considers.
QHA reported that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will approve new anti-Russian sanctions after April 15. NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that sanctions against the Russian Federation, introduced earlier, would also continue.
