On February 20, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov held a meeting in Tbilisi (Georgia) with the Chairman of the Georgian parliament Irakli Kobakhidze, according to the information on the website of the Georgian parliament.

The parties discussed the situation in the territories occupied by the Russian Federation.

Kobakhidze said that Georgia condemns the annexation of Crimea and the aggressive actions of Moscow.

In turn, Refat Chubarov noted that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko initiated the creation of the International Support Group for the De-occupation of Crimea.

The Head of Mejlis during his visit to Georgia took part in the round table "De-occupation of Ukraine and Georgia: Role of the state, international organizations and civil society", organized by the Foundation for Strategy and Research of International Relations of Georgia. Igor Dolgov, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Georgia, took part in the round table as well.

In Georgia, Refat Chubarov also held a meeting with the Minister for Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees Sozar Subari, during which the parties "discussed violations of human rights in the occupied territories, as well as mechanisms for consolidating efforts to de-occupation of the territories of Ukraine and Georgia."

Previously, Refat Chubarov stated that the West should impose an embargo on Russian oil, since Russian President Vladimir Putin will abandon the occupied Crimea only if there is a threat of collapse of the whole of Russia.
