Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said in an interview that the occupied Crimea will return to Ukraine earlier than the Kremlin wishes.

He again reminded that by annexing the peninsula, the aggressor country violated the norms of international law and the principles established following the Second World War.

“Russia has violated all its obligations, including an agreement with Ukraine. That is, it is obvious that the Crimea is the Ukrainian land," Chubarov emphasized.

The Head of Mejlis also noted: The history of the Russian Empire and the USSR showed that the Kremlin is not able to manage large areas.

Reference: Russia annexed the Crimea in 2014. International organizations, including the General Assembly of the United Nations and NATO, condemned the aggression of the Russian Federation and recognized the annexation of the Crimea as illegal. Therefore a number of sanctions were imposed against the Russian Federation.
