The Canadian Parliament urged the world to remember that the Crimean Tatars are indigenous people of the Crimea, and the peninsula itself belongs to Ukraine, according to the deputy from the ruling Liberal Party Boris Vzhesnevsky
“While we are celebrating the centenary of the First Crimean Tatar Qurultay, one should reaffirm that Crimean Tatars are the indigenous people of the Crimea, and Crimea itself is Ukraine,” Vzhesnevsky stressed. “It’s a pity that the history seems to repeat itself. After the Russian military invasion and illegal occupation, the Crimean Tatars again face the forced disappearances, killing of their leaders, exile and persecution," the politician noted.
QHA reported that the scientific-practical conference "100th anniversary of Qurultay: Past, present, future" was held on December 7 on the basis of the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv.
