Employees of Russian agricultural watchdog Rosseklkhoznadzor prevented 27,000 tonnes of poultry from entering Crimea without the required documents and two batches of 16,500 live chickens which were not tested for salmonellosis.

The department of Rosseklkhoznadzor for Crimea and Sevastopol reported on Wednesday that at the Perekop checkpoint during a check of two trucks carrying products of Ukrainian enterprise Myronivsky Hliboproduct from Kherson to Crimea declared as poultry it was established that the supplier does not have veterinary documents.

In addition, at the Armiansk checkpoint two large batches of live chickens were not allowed entering the peninsula.

All products were returned to the mainland of Ukraine.

Russia has also banned confectionary import of two more Ukrainian companies, over “violition of the law on consumer rights protection”.
