The U.S. Department of State appointed former United States Permanent Representative to NATO Kurt Volker as a Special Representative for Ukraine, Reuters reported, referring to the accredited media citing the Communications Adviser for Secretary of State  Robert Hammond.

“Volker will coordinate all efforts of the Department of State to resolve the conflict, which began when Russia invaded the Crimea, and later also in Eastern Ukraine," Hammond said.

Reportedly, Kurt Volker served as US Permanent Representative to NATO from July 2008 to May 2009.
