Ukraine is seeking strategic equal partnership with Poland, Andrii Deshchytsia, Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland said during the interview with the Polish tv channel.

“We seek equal partnership, and if the controversial issues emerge, we should solve them during conversations, negotiations and meetings,” he stated.

Deshchytsia noted that Ukraine favoured the improving Ukraine-Poland relationships.

“If some tension exists, then it just needs to be removed, probably taking a step back to understand each other ... I would like Ukraine and Poland to spend less time explaining positions, and more - developing our partnership and executing projects that would benefit Ukrainians and Poles,” ambassador added.

Reportedly, emergency meeting of the Counselling Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland at foreign policy advisers level will be held on November 17 in Krakow. Kostiantyn Yeliseyev is to head the Ukrainian delegation. Representatives of the foreign ministries of both countries and advisers to the presidents of Ukraine and Poland will also take part in the meeting. According to the information available, the meeting of the committee of presidents of the two countries will be held on the initiative of the Ukrainian side in the light of the deterioration of bilateral relations in the historical plane.
