The Committee of Permanent Representatives of the European Union (EU) has expanded the list of sanctions against Russian citizens who are involved in organizing illegal elections of the Russian president in the territory of the occupied Ukrainian Crimea, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko informed on his Twitter page.

“I appreciate the decision of the EU Committee of Permanent Representatives to include those directly involved in organizing and conducting illegal elections of the Russian president in Crimea into the sanctions list. I am thankful to our EU partners," he wrote.

Earlier, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Jan Pieklo stated that Russia will withdraw from the annexed Crimea, unable to withstand the sanction of the West. In turn, Warsaw, according to him, remains a constant supporter of the Ukrainian Crimea.
