Since June 15, the payment for roaming will be canceled in the territory of the European Union.
The corresponding statement was made by the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani, the Prime Minister of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union of Malta Joseph Muscat and the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.
“The European Union is the association of people and the alleviation of their lives. The end of the roaming charge is a true story of European success. From now on, citizens travelling within the EU will be able to call, write sms and connect to their mobile devices at the same price as they pay at home. The cancellation of roaming charges is one of the biggest and most tangible successes of the EU”.
It is noted that the EU institutions have worked on this issue for 10 years.
“Roaming fee is in the past now. Tomorrow you will be able to stay connected during a trip to the EU and pay the same price as at home”.
On June 11, the visa-free regime with the EU countries came into effect for citizens of Ukraine travelling with biometric passports.
Earlier QHA reported that on the first day of the visa-free travel, more than two thousand Ukrainians used the right to cross borders without a visa.
