The Ukraine’s Ministry of Information Policy has proposed to recognize February, 26 the Day of Resistance against Russian Occupation of Crimean Peninsula. According to Emine Dzheppar, the Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy on Crimea, this date will remind people about the events that preceded the Russian aggression.
In particular, we are talking about a mass rally outside the Crimean parliament when activists tried to prevent voting over illegal "referendum" that finally resulted in the Russia’s annexation of the peninsula.
- The day when thousands of Crimean residents hit the streets in the city of Simferopol to support the Ukraine’s territorial integrity should be recognized as the Day of Resistance against Russian occupation of Crimea, said Adviser to the Minister at a meeting with the Crimean journalists.
