Chairman of the Executive Committee WCCT Refat Chubarov told the audience about the work carried out on the international activities of the Mejlis members and activists.

The Head of the Congress told about a side-event "Discrimination against indigenous peoples in today's Russian-Ukrainian military conflict" that was held in the framework of the meeting of the OSCE mission on the Human Dimension in Warsaw on September 28. The side-event was organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the Crimean Tatar resource center. Members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars and activists as well took part in the OSCE meeting on the protection of journalists, which was held in Vienna on October 27.

Refat Chubarov mentioned the actions of the occupation authorities, who are trying to discredit the Mejlis in the eye of the International community. In particular, the Congress Chairman noted the absurdity of arrival in Warsaw of the Deputy Mufti of Muslims of Crimea Ayder Ismailov, who fulfilling the task of the Kremlin, shamelessly lied that the Crimean Tatars on the peninsula are not subjected to harassment.

In this respect, Refat Chubarov reminded of criminal charges brought against the Crimean Muslims in the Crimea, where there are already 19 defendants, against the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as against the Deputy Chairman of the Chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov who was subjected to punitive psychiatry.

“Now in Crimea any Crimean Tatar could be subjected to repression on the case of the Mejlis banning,” said Chubarov.

The Chairman of the Congress says that the leader of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev will join the meeting tomorrow, November 5th.

As QHA reported earlier, Ukrainian capital hosts the 6th meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars (WCCT) held on November 4-5.

The meeting re-elected Refat Chubarov the Chairman of the WCCT as well as the members of the Executive Committee of the Congress, which included 21 representatives and members of the Audit Commission.
