The delegation headed by the Commander of Turkish Naval Forces Admiral Bulent Bostanoglu visited the Ukrainian Navy Headquarters in Odessa, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reports.

The report says that Acting Commander of Naval Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Igor Voronchenko and Turkish Naval Forces Admiral Bulent Bostanoglu discussed a number of important issues of the Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in the naval field during the meetings at Odessa International Airport and Hetman Sahaidachny frigate.

In May this year, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko reported that Ukraine had already received assistance worth $ million from Turkey for the Navy and military hospital.

“The parties have signed an implementation plan on advisory services, preparation of Ukrainian troops in Turkey as well as logistical support issues,” Muzhenko said at the meeting with his colleague from Turkey, which was held at NATO headquarters.

Turkey supports the position of the international community with regard to illegal occupation of Ukrainian Crimea by Russia and condemns the Russian military intervention in eastern Ukraine.
