The Head of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov talked with a number of local diplomats during a planned visit to Latvia on April 19, and told about the policy of terror implemented by Russia in the occupied Crimea, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Latvia reported.
The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars met with the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima Inara Murniece, the Member of the European Parliament Artis Pabriks and members of the leadership of the Latvian Foreign Ministry.
“At the meeting with the Foreign Ministry, the Chairman of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov reported on the Russian policy of terror and intimidation on the peninsula," the embassy informed on Twitter.
Earlier, in the framework of the annual international event "Kyiv Forum", which is a platform for debate on topical security issues in Europe and the Black Sea region, the Prime Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia Maris Kucinskis, Saulius Skvernelis and Jüri Ratas expressed their unconditional support to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemned the aggression of Moscow. The Baltic diplomats assured that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania would never recognize the Russian annexation of the Crimea.
