Political prisoner Nikolai Karpyuk will be convoyed to the colony in the Vladimir region (Russia), lawyer Ilya Novikov posted on the social media

It was reported earlier that the Russian special services kidnapped Nikolai Karpyuk in Chernihiv region (Ukraine) in March 2014, while Stanislav Klyh was arrested in the city of Orel (Russia) in August of the same year. The Memorial Human Rights Centre in the Russian Federation recognized Karpyuk and Klyh political prisoners.

On May 26, the Chechnya's Supreme Court sentenced Karpyuk and Klyh to 22.5 and 20 years in prison, respectively. Russian investigators believe that they, as members of the UNA-UNSO, were fighting in Grozny against the Russian troops in the 1990s.
