From September 20 to October 7, the Republic of Turkey holds the 26th Universal Postal Congress, which has the discussion of the postal business strategy plan for the years 2017-2020 on the agenda.

October 4 – 5, Ukraine took part in the Congress as well. The state was represented by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure on European Integration Victor Dovgan, and General Director of Ukrainian Post Service "Ukrposhta" Igor Smilyanskaya, according to Twitter of the Ukrainian Embassy in Turkey.

Within the congress, Ukraine and Turkey signed a memorandum on cooperation in e-commerce with the Turkish post.

Moreover, a series of meetings between representatives of the Universal Postal Union International Bureau with the Association of European postal operators concerning technical support for the "Ukrposhta".

The Universal Postal Congress is the supreme body of the Universal Postal Union. It is held every four years in order to approve the general program of organization’s activities and discuss strategic issues of postal service.
