One of the main points of the OSCE is to reach truce, bring apart the parties to the conflict and withdraw heavy weapons, the OSCE Chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Sebastian Kurz stated during a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin.
“There is no simple and quick solution, though it is necessary to ensure peace in the east of Ukraine, and gradually, step by step approach it. A lot of people are suffering in the conflict zone. During our chairmanship of the OSCE, we will try to become an advocate to these people and to improve their situation,” Kurtz said, according to the QHA correspondent.
He pointed the need to strengthen the observation mission in Donbas.
“We want to ensure better access of the mission to the region, as well as to make sure their staying is safe. Our priority is to expand the SMM (Special Monitoring Mission), to provide technical means and more access to the territory for the observers to perform their jobs better, providing more safety for people in the region,”  the Head of the OSCE said.
Sebastian Kurz went on saying that January  18 he is to fly to Moscow for further talks.
