The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs urged Russia to immediately release Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov as well as other political prisoners. He made a corresponding statement on his Twitter page.

Earlier, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, the Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for Crimean Tatar people Affairs Mustafa Dzhemilev said that Turkey does not exclude the option of exchanging political prisoners Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko like in the case with the Deputy Chairmen of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov and Akhtem Chyigoz.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko noted that Ukraine is ready to transfer 23 citizens of the Russian Federation who are serving a sentence for serious crimes against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in exchange for Ukrainian hostages.
