“The price situation is very volatile now. We are witnessing prices for products like bread, onions and potatoes soaring. Businessmen who purchased their products from mainland Ukraine have stashed a supply of them in their warehouses and freezers”, Umerov said.

Ilmi Umerov stressed that the blockade’s consequences will be felt in a week’s time.

As of September 20, trucks carrying food and goods from mainland Ukraine have been prevented from entering Crimea.
