As of February 19, 2018, according to the structural subdivisions of the social protection of the population of Kyiv city and regional state administrations, about 1.5 million settlers from Donbas and Crimea have been registered, according to the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
At the end of September, the total number of internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories was more than 1.5 million. About a third of them decided not to leave their homeland too far and settled in unoccupied areas of the Donetsk region - according to the Ministry of Social Policy, it is about more than 519 thousand people. In Luhansk, 298,000 IDPs live in peaceful territory.
The third most popular among IDPs is the Kharkiv region. Over 196,000 internally displaced persons were registered there. Then comes Kyiv - 175.6 thousand people (plus 63.75 thousand - in the Kyiv region) and Dnepropetrovsk - 73.97 thousand.
The fewest number of IDPs was registered in western Ukraine, namely in Ternopil (2.5 thousand), Transcarpathian (3.5 thousand) and Rivne (3.25 thousand) regions.
Earlier, the Ministry of Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons, together with the civil organization Donbas SOS and the program "Advisor on IDPs", signed a memorandum on the work of the new hotline.
