The Deputy Ambassador of Russia to Israel Leonid Frolov warned Tel Aviv against the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
According to the diplomat: now is not the time for such discussions.
“Now is not the right time for such discussions. It will be an erroneous step," Frolov said.
The day before, the Israeli MP Arab-Druze Akram Hasson, proposed to the parliament of the country, the Knesset, to recognize the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Hasson ("Kulanu" party, part of the government coalition) invited the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education to hold public events and educational events in connection with a memorable day for the Ukrainian people. The bill of Hasson proposes to declare December 6 as ‘Day of memory of the Ukrainian genocide’ in Israel.
