1.4 billion dollars, stolen by the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, were confiscated and transferred to the state budget, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said at the presentation of modern highly effective means of military radio communication to border guards in Kyiv on April 28.
“The investigation is completed, a court decision was adopted and today it is executed at 00:00 hours - on the confiscation of 1.4 billion dollars that were stolen in Ukraine by the former President. Today we have restored justice and returned these funds to the budget of Ukraine. Today the button is pressed, and this money is credited to the account of the State Treasury," the President informed.
He stressed that the priority sphere of using these funds will be the revival of the combat capacity of the Ukrainian army: the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Service.
"These funds should be spent on the construction of a factory for the production of ammunition, the purchase of counterbattery radars and drones, the construction of hostels for servicemen," the Head of state said.
April 28, the court's decision came into force to confiscate the arrested $ 1.4 billion, appropriated by the entourage of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
