August 13, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, the Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Dzhemilev began his visit to the Republic of Indonesia, according to the information on his official page on Facebook
In Jakarta, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people held a meeting with the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla.
Reportedly, during the meeting the parties discussed the issues of the occupied Crimea, as well as a gross violation of human rights and freedoms of the Russian Federation towards the citizens of Ukraine.
“Mustafa Dzhemilev noted the importance of the international position on supporting the territorial integrity of Ukraine in internationally recognized borders and increasing pressure on Russia,” the message said.
It is worth noting that Indonesia is the world’s largest country of the Muslim world in terms of area and the population.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during his visit to Indonesia in 2016 urged Indonesian parliamentarians to defend the Crimean Tatars, whose rights are violated by the Russian occupation authorities.
