Ukraine Citizens, residing in the ORDLO territory and in the annexed Crimea, will be able to obtain foreign passports of old type.

President Petro Poroshenko made a corresponding statement at a meeting on preparations for the entry into force of the visa-free travelling at the checkpoint “Yagodin” on the border with Poland, “Ukrayinska Pravda” publication informs.

“If problems with issuing passports to those who are in the occupied territory or in the Crimea objectively arises, we need to analyze our regulatory framework and not to leave them without passports. If we have no grounds to issue biometric passports to them, then urgently submit a position to the Cabinet of Ministers upon agreement of the National Security Agency and  Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue old standard passports to these citizens. This issue must be solved”.

Previously, during a press conference, Poroshenko reported that he sincerely believes that all Ukrainians from the Crimea and Donbas would be able to travel to Europe without visas after de-occupation of Ukrainian.

Also, the President confirmed that the visa-free will remain inaccessible only to those Crimeans who abandoned Ukrainian citizenship.

Earlier QHA reported that practically visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU will come into force on the night of 10 to 11 June
