The Russian Federation intends to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of the Crimea, the Chairman of Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy reported during his speech at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Tbilisi.
"Now Russia conducts the intensified militarization of the illegally occupied peninsula, placing there the newest types of weapons and military equipment. It includes plans to deploy nuclear weapons, and according to some sources, they have already been deployed in Crimea", he reported.
In his speech the head of the VR also emphasized that the Russian occupation regime persecutes representatives of the Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian ethnic communities in the Crimea.
He also added that Russian Federation activates military operations on the fighting line in Donbas.
Earlier QHA reports that at the end of March, speaking at the meeting of the Ukraine-Poland-Lithuania Interparliamentary Assembly in Warsaw, Andrei Parubii informed that Russian Federation prepares the military infrastructure of the annexed Crimea for the deployment of nuclear weapons in particular restoring and modernizing former Soviet nuclear warheads storage facilities.
