- It is likely the sanctions will be continued, said Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski prior to the European Council meeting in Brussels as cited by European Pravda.

According to the Minister, two weeks ago the leaders of the largest EU states agreed to hold an informal meeting in Hannover since Russia does not comply with the Minsk Agreements.

As QHA reported earlier, the European Parliament called on the EU to expand sanctions against Russia due to an increasing persecution of the Crimean Tatars in annexed Crimea and the ban on their representative body - the Mejlis.

The corresponding resolution was adopted in Strasbourg.
