President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko informed the President of the European Council Donald Tusk about the situation in the Donbas and coordinated the nearest joint actions, according to the report on the website of President Poroshenko.
In particular, he reminded Tusk of the systematic violations of the Minsk agreements by Russia.
“Under such conditions, there are no grounds for canceling or any easing of the economic and sectoral sanctions of the European Union against the Russian Federation.”
According to Poroshenko, such an assessment should influence the decision of the G-7 leaders and the European Council on the extension of sanctions against Russia.
Furthermore, Tusk and Poroshenko noted the publication of the European Union's decision to introduce a visa-free travelling, and expect its coming into force as early as June 11.
In addition, the Presidents agreed to hold the next Ukraine-EU summit on July 13, 2017.
Earlier QHA reported that the Head of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel calls the Presidents of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, France Emmanuel Macron and Russia Vladimir Putin to the summit in the "Normandy format".
