Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree appointing Ukrainian MP Serhiy Kunitsyn as his freelance adviser.

“To appoint Serhiy Kunitsyn as freelance adviser”- reads presidential decree №550/2014.

Kunitsyn served as permanent representative of Ukrainian President in Crimea till March 2014, but was dismissed from the post following the region’s annexation, over “improper performing of duties”.

From 1998 to 2001 and from 2002 to 2005 he served as the Prime Minister of Ukraine’s Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

In June 2005 - April 2010 he was a governor of the Sevastopol city.
