May 14, during a press conference in Kyiv, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he had discussed the issue of the release of journalist Roman Sushchenko and other Ukrainian political prisoners with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, QHA correspondent reports.

"I can say that my last telephone conversation with Putin concerned only hostages, and we also discussed my request to immediately release Sushchenko from a Russian prison," Poroshenko said.

The President assured that the Ukrainian government will do everything possible to return home not only Roman Sushchenko, but all those who are illegally staying both in Russian prisons and in prisons in the occupied territory as soon as possible.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that residents of the Crimea and the Donbas, if not registered as IDRs, will be able to travel to Europe on a visa-free basis only after de-occupation of the territories.
