Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko thanked international partners for efforts to free Ukrainian political prisoners illegally detained by Russia, according to the page of the Head of state on Facebook.
“I am grateful to our international partners who are working with us to release Ukrainian political prisoners illegally detained by Russia. I am convinced that truth and justice will win," reads the statement.
Earlier, the British Embassy in Ukraine urged Russia to release Ukrainian political prisoners and again indicated that Crimea is a Ukrainian territory.
Earlier it was reported that since 2014, at least 70 people had been illegally deprived of liberty by occupiers in the Crimea within the framework of politically motivated criminal cases.
