March 23, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, according to the official online representation of the President of Ukraine.
The interlocutors discussed further prospects for the development of bilateral relations.
The Presidents stressed the importance of implementing the agreements reached on trade and economic cooperation during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Belarusian Joint Commission last year.
The Heads of states intend to intensify the political dialogue at all levels.
President Aleksandr Lukashenko also welcomed the appointment of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus.
Earlier, in February, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed decrees on the appointment of Ambassadors in Belarus, Iraq and Laos. Thus, Igor Kizim became Ukraine's Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus.
