KYIV (QHA) -

After returning Crimea to Ukraine, there will not be the Russian base in Sevastopol, said Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada with the annual message on September 20.

“It is proposed to remove the norm from the Constitution which allows the basing of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine. And after we return Crimea, the Russian base in Sevastopol will not be exactly anymore.”

The State's Head also noted that in the near future it is necessary to increase the defense of the Azov Sea.

“On the agenda in the near future there is an increase of the defense of the Ukrainian part of the Azov Sea.”

As QHA reported, on April, the occupation authorities brought into combat readiness the Russian Black Sea Fleet in annexed Sevastopol.
