The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to NATO's call for withdrawing Russian troops from the Donbas and stated that instead of paying attention to NATO's appeals, Russia is preparing to watch the 2018 World Cup, according to the message on the page of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Twitter.

"While the useless military bloc of NATO accuses us of provocative activities and continues to grind their teeth in Brussels, we are preparing to watch the World Cup 2018," reads the message.

Reference: During the summit, NATO member states stated that Russia should withdraw troops from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They also expressed support for the settlement of the conflict in the Donbas.

On July 11, a two-day summit started at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, it was attended by the leaders of the countries participating in the military-political Alliance and the partners of the North Atlantic bloc, including Ukraine.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called the main topics of the Summit, including: deterring and strengthening defense, combating terrorism and strengthening stability, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with the EU, modernizing NATO, equitable distribution of responsibilities and common values of the alliance.
