The Russian singer Yulia Samoilova, who was supposed to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest-2017, is officially prohibited from entering the territory of Ukraine, according to the statement of the Security Service of Ukraine on Facebook.

“The Security Service of Ukraine has banned Russian citizen Yulia Samoilova from entering the territory of Ukraine for a period of three years. The decision was made on the basis of the received data on the violation of the legislation of Ukraine.”

Russia expressed the desire to send a 27-year-old singer Yulia Samoilova to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. The singer is a first group disabled and moves on a wheelchair. As it turned out, earlier Samoilova had violated the law of Ukraine, having performed in Crimea after its occupation by Russia.

Earlier, the director of the Eurovision Song Contest-2017, Jon Ola Sand, noted that the Ukrainian authorities can decide, under the current legislation, on admission of the contestant from Russia Yulia Samoilova to the Eurovision-2017.
