Following the talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that Moscow expressed "a certain willingness" to look for ways to resolve the situation around Ukraine.
He made a corresponding statement on August 7, behind the scenes of the Southeast Asia Forum held in Manila, "Ukrainskaya Pravda" reports.
Moreover, Tillerson told Lavrov that Moscow's interference in the US presidential election in 2016 had caused "serious mistrust" between the two countries and was a "serious incident."
Lavrov, in turn, earlier commented on the course of negotiations with Tillerson. He said that despite the tension in bilateral relations and the introduction of new sanctions, he believes that the US is ready to continue the dialogue with Russia on complex issues.
Earlier, QHA reported that after the meeting with Tillerson, Lavrov said that in the near future the US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker would pay a visit to Moscow.
