During the G-7 summit, German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with US President Donald Trump. Among other things, they discussed the issue of Ukraine, Merkel reported herself on the results of the first day of the summit, according to Ukrinform.
“We once again discussed the topic of Ukraine, the Minsk process, and also how we can work together positively. I think we are developing good cooperation here.”
Also, the Heads of Germany and the United States discussed the agenda of the "Big Twenty", which Germany heads this year, the climate agreement and trade.
Commenting on the outcome of the G7 first day, Merkel called its atmosphere "very constructive and honest." She once again stressed the importance of adopting statements on the fight against terrorism, and matters of conflict in Syria and Libya. According to her, the thoughts of the summit participants on these issues "coincide in most respects".
