President of the United States Donald Trump said that if Russian president Putin was present at the G7 summit, it would be possible to discuss the situation in Ukraine and Syria with him.
“I will tell you, as an example, if he were at that meeting I could ask him to do things that are good for the world, that are good for the country, that are good for him,” Trump said.
Trump stressed that a lot of time is occupied by talk about Russia at the summit.
“You know, we spend probably 25 percent of our time talking about Russia and I said wouldn't it be better if they were here,” he stated.
Earlier, Donald Trump advocated the return of Russia to the G7.
British Prime Minister Teresa May said that the return of Russia to the G7 is possible only after it stops interfering in the affairs of other countries. May stressed that Russia will not receive an invitation without meeting certain requirements.
