Authorized and Extraordinary Ambassador of Turkey in Ukraine Yonet Gian Tezel during his speech at the forum "Crimea under occupation: Consequences for Ukraine and the world", said that the Republic would continue supporting the brotherly Crimean Tatar people:
“On behalf of Turkey I would like to note that our position is very clear: We do not recognize and will not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea. Crimea should not be a bargaining chip. Crimean Tatars are our family, and they deserve to live in their historic home. We will continue to support the Crimean Tatars in their struggle, and I also want to encourage other states to strengthen their support.”
According to the Turkish Ambassador, aligning the Ukrainian policy on Crimea should primarily base on dialogue.
On February 25-26, Kyiv hosts international forum "Crimea under occupation: Consequences for Ukraine and the world", which is timed to coincide with the third anniversary of the annexation of the peninsula and the Day of Crimean Resistance to Russian occupation
