Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu postponed the scheduled for December 20-21 official visit to Ukraine, the Turkish Embassy informed Interfax-Ukraine agency.

“The visit is postponed for another day, and will not take place today or tomorrow,” the embassy’s report says.

The reason for the transfer of the visit was the murder of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov in Ankara on December 19.

In the framework of the Cavusoglu’s visit to Ukraine the meetings with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman, as well as with representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and Meskhetian Turks were scheduled. The situation of the Crimean Tatar people in the occupied Crimea was among the main topics of discussion.
