According to the twitter of the embassy of the United Kingdom in Ukraine, UK urged Russia to free Ukrainian political prisoners and highlighted again that Crimea is Ukraine.
“On Human Rights Day, the UK continues to call on Russia to release all Ukrainian political prisoners immediately. #CrimeaIsUkraine,” said the message.
Reportedly, the situation with human rights in Ukraine has remained tense for the last three years. Despite the efforts of public human rights organizations and a number of politicians, the occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine and the military conflict in the Donbas remain one of the main sources of systematic and massive violation of human rights. The trend remains disappointing, and compared with 2016 the situation with fundamental freedoms in Ukraine has deteriorated in 2017.
